What a Fredericksburg wine tour actually costs.
Nobody else in this town publishes this, so here it is. These are set rates for the vehicle and driver for five hours. You pay your own tastings at each estate, which usually runs $15 to $25 a person per winery.

Six people on the designated driver option works out at about $42 each before tastings. Texas sales tax of 8.25 percent applies, and a 20 percent gratuity is added at six guests or more and goes straight to your driver. Want the tastings prepaid and the route already built? Private from two guests, not from ten.
Most Fredericksburg operators only go private once you have ten or more people. Under that, you get put in a vehicle with strangers on somebody else's schedule. We do not run a single shared seat. Every vehicle we send out belongs to your group alone, whether there are two of you or fourteen.

Why do you publish prices when nobody else does?
Because we would rather you knew what the day costs before you spend twenty minutes on a form. Our rates are set by the vehicle and the length of the block, so there is nothing to hide behind. If your day is unusual we will quote it, but the standard five hour Fredericksburg tour is exactly what it says.
What is not included in the price?
On the exclusive tour, the tastings themselves, which usually run $15 to $25 a person at each estate. Bottle purchases, meals and gratuity are also on you. Gas, tolls, bottled water, route planning and Airbnb pickup are all included.
Is there tax and gratuity on top?
Texas charges 8.25 percent sales tax on tours, which we have to collect. A 20 percent gratuity is added automatically at six guests or more and goes straight to your driver. Under six guests, gratuity is optional.
Do you take a deposit?
No deposit on wine tours. Payment is in full at booking, and your date is reserved the moment you pay.
How many wineries can we visit?
Three is comfortable in a five hour block, which is what most groups do. Four is possible if they sit close together on the 290 corridor. We would rather you sit down properly at three than rush four.
Where do you pick us up?
Wherever you are staying. Your Airbnb, hotel, rental house or a friend's place in or around Fredericksburg. There is no central meeting point and no parking to sort out.
Can you drive our own vehicle instead?
Yes, and it is our most affordable option. If your group already has an SUV or van, a professional insured IDYR driver comes to you, drives it all day and hands the keys back. That is $250 for five hours with up to six guests.
