Five hours, start to finish

How a history tour actually runs.

  1. 1

    Before the day

We confirm the route, arrange the site admissions on the all inclusive tour, and text you the pickup window. Nothing for you to plan.

  2. 2

    We pick you up

Your driver-guide comes to your place, wherever you are staying across the Wimberley Valley and the Hill Country. The vehicle is yours for the whole block, so strollers, coolers and everyone in the group ride along.

  3. 3

    First stop

On the all inclusive tour the admission is arranged and the day is set, so you just walk in. On an exclusive tour you picked the theme and we run the route.

  4. 4

    Your driver-guide, on demand

They tell the stories between stops, know which sites suit the group, and if everyone wants they will run out for food or scout the next stop so nobody stands around waiting.

  5. 5

    Food when it suits

Most tours break for a bite in town. We can hold a table, or point you to the spot that fits an all ages group.

  6. 6

    Last stop and home

The final stop is the good one. Then we drive everybody home, which is the entire point of hiring us.

No surprises

What a history tour costs.

Every tour is priced the same way, whether it is one of ours or one you build. This is the whole formula.

Pricing is being finalized

History tour pricing is being confirmed while we finalize site admissions. Tell the AI planner your group size, your date and the vehicle class and it returns an instant quote. Per person pricing falls as the group grows, because the driver and vehicle cost the same either way.

Five hour block on every tour. Gas, tolls and bottled water are included. Vehicle class, from Designated Driver to Premium and Luxury, is picked when you book.

What gets added

  • Texas sales tax 8.25 percent, because a tour is a taxable amusement service in Texas.
  • Gratuity 20 percent, added automatically at six guests or more, and it goes straight to your driver.
  • Extra hours billed at ninety percent of the hourly rate, so a longer day gets cheaper by the hour.
  • Add ons charcuterie from $35, refreshment cooler $25, decoration package $45.

Full payment is required to book a tour. There is no deposit, and your date is reserved the moment you pay.

Texas history tour questions

How much does a Wimberley history tour cost?

Pricing is being finalized while we confirm site admissions. Tell the AI planner your group size, date and vehicle and it returns an instant quote. Per person pricing falls as the group grows, because the driver and vehicle cost the same either way. Texas sales tax of 8.25 percent applies, and a 20 percent gratuity is added automatically at six guests or more.

Where do the history tours go?

The all inclusive route covers the Winters Wimberley House, Old Baldy and the Wimberley Cowboy Museum, with the admissions arranged for you. The exclusive tour is a five hour block where you pick a theme and we build the route across the Hill Country.

Is the tour family friendly?

Yes. The history tours are all ages. Kids, grandparents and everyone in between are welcome, and the vehicle is yours for the whole block so strollers and coolers come along.

How many stops do you make?

Three on a standard five hour tour. That is the number that lets you actually take in each site rather than rushing. Extra hours are billed at ninety percent of the hourly rate if you want a fourth.

Where do you pick up?

Door to door across the Wimberley Valley and the wider Hill Country, and we come to you. Pickup time counts toward your five hour block, so groups further out often add an hour.

Is there a minimum group size?

Two guests. Two to six travels in a premium SUV or van, and up to fourteen moves into the luxury Sprinter. Above fourteen we run multiple vehicles.

Do we need our own driver, or is that included?

A professional driver-guide is included on every tour, and they stay with the group the entire time rather than dropping you and leaving. If you would rather ride in your own vehicle, our designated driver service starts at $50 an hour with a five hour minimum and we drive yours instead.

How far in advance should we book?

Forty eight hours minimum, and forty eight hours to a week is comfortable for most weekends. Larger groups and holiday weekends need more runway.
